Sweet Dreams, you silly silly girl

Forgive me if I overstepped the mark,

too forwardly expressing what I fear;
scared I was just imagining the spark
that lights my world whenever you are near.
For sure, men have attracted me before.
I’ve flirted, but with some reservations,
for they want friendship, never something more;
I’ve learnt not to have great expectations.
Held my breath after saying I like you,
waiting for a polite but firm letdown,
but you were lovely. Seems you like me too,
and some days later you are still around.
You send a message started with a kiss.
My heart swells: Cupid’s arrow couldn’t miss.
