Literally

She said autistics

are known for

taking everything

literally.

I suppressed the temptation

to pick up a chair

and anything else I could carry

and walk out,

thus taking everything,

literally.

Instead I said

oh that’s not me.

You see, there are plenty of times

I’ve shown my ability

not to take everything literally.

I read widely, for example,

and I understand idioms and proverbs

and I know that when you tell me

about killing two birds with one stone

you don’t actually mean

aviary murder.

So it’s not like I take

everything

literally. Oh.
