For Arc from Lexi

Pale cerulean discs,

uncharted territory,

oceans of promise

that draw me in

with certainty of risk

and whispers of reward.

I am hypnotised.

Innocence,

naivete,

I would have called these weakness

but in you they are strength.

Under your gaze

I am vivisected. You see

in me

glimmers

of a good I dare not even imagine,

but when you say it

I think perhaps I could believe.

You shatter my truths

and without them

I am adrift

until I look into your eyes

and see my lifeline.

You tame my flames,

the fires that even I cannot control.

What are you?

Who are you

that you can see

any worth

beneath

these

ashes,

that you can dampen

one flame

whilst sparking

another,

something altogether new

within me?

What fresh fire

is this that you ignite?

It inflames my very soul

until the only remedy

is to be drenched in the depths

of all the shades of blue

within your eyes;

the risk of drowning

is worth it.
